MOUNT KILIMANJARO
Mount Kilimanjaro is one of the most iconic natural wonders of the world. It is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world with 5,895 metres (19,341 ft) above sea level and about 4,900 metres (16,100 ft) above its plateau base. It is the highest volcano in Africa and the Eastern Hemisphere. It is a dormant volcano which is found in the East Africa Tanzania. It has three volcanic cones Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira.
The climate of Kilimanjaro is influenced by the height of the mountain, which allows the simultaneous influence of the equatorial trade winds and the high altitude anti-trades, and by the isolated position of the mountain. Kilimanjaro has two distinct rainy seasons, one from March to May and short rains in November which are from a dryer wind coming from the northeast. Naturally most of these rains fall on the northern slopes. It is obvious that one would want to climb the mountain during the dry season, however the weather is unpredictable at higher altitudes where one moment you could be baking in sunshine and the next layered up by bitter winds.
Anyone from the age 10 years to 60-70 years with acceptable health conditions can visit and climb Mount Kilimanjaro
