
KATAVI NATIONAL PARK
Katavi national park is a well-hidden gem is located in the Katavi region and was preserved as a National Park in 1974, although scarcely visited you should know that this is the third largest national park in Tanzania. This park is comprised of Lake Katavi, Chada and the Katuma river.
This park is known for its large herds of cape buffaloes, elephants, giraffes and zebras. During the dry season the Katuma becomes a great habitat for hundreds of hippopotamus. For campers this park can be a great choice since it offers vast areas of untouched greenery.
